Project aims to develop new products and processes for the food industry, betting on regional raw materials.

Researcher Maria Gabriela Prima, an integrated member of the Centre for Research in Quality of Life (CIEQV), is the coordinator of AGRIOetEMULSIO – New Products Development. It is a project promoted by a multiregional consortium, which includes the Escola Superior Agrária do Instituto Politécnico de Santarém and with the support of the Foundation for Science and Technology and the European Regional Development Fund.

AGRIOetEMULSIO aims to “combine the trends of nouvelle cuisine, healthy food and gastronomic traditions, valuing regional raw materials, creating new products, developing innovative processes”, which can be applied and expanded by the food industry. Betting on regional raw materials such as fruits, vegetables, honey, flavoring plants, dairy products, juniper and wine drinks, gives the project great potential impact in the region.
